Demetrius “Dee” Jones has over 14 years of experience in professional Home Care Services.  He spent the past two years as a representative for several senior organizations delivering home care companion services.  In this role he provides support and companionship to seniors in need of care.  Prior to this professional experience he cared for his homebound father who was diagnosed with dementia with lewey bodies for two years on a full time bases and part time for 7 years.  This firsthand experience was rewarding and provided a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the needs of both the patient and the caregiver.  This extraordinary and transformative experience has directed and influenced his current professional commitment.

After five years at Unity Health Systems, Dee made the decision to leave his employment in order to care for his father in 2011.  Prior to his departure Dee held the position of Supervisor, Shipping and Receiving of Materials Management.  In this role he managed a team of 15 and oversaw the overall operations of courier services, shipping/ receiving and mail for the entire organization for one year.  Prior to this position, he was a Value Analysis Coordinator in the Purchasing/Finance Department.  “Dee” spent four years in this position and was responsible for the coordination of the value analysis process that ensured the selection of quality products while achieving cost containment and standardization where appropriate.  While in this role, Dee successfully led an initiative that saved the organization over $10,000,000.00.

Before joining Unity Health Systems, Dee spent 25 years working for Eastman Kodak in a variety of different roles.  He spent 5 years as a Benefit Specialist where he was responsible for assisting employees and retirees navigate through the complexities of the organization’s various health care plans, pension plans, 401(k) and other benefits programs. He also held the position of Safety Representative/Lab Technician for 10 years in which he was responsible for identifying Health, Safety & Environmental issues and implementing appropriate solutions as well as producing the chemical recipes for film emulsions.  In addition, Dee spent 10 years in Site Operations/Materials Management where he was responsible for the ordering, receiving, and inventory of emulsion making equipment for Research Labs, which houses Machine Shops and Lab Technicians.

Additionally, for five years Dee volunteered at “Isaiah House” in Rochester, NY providing hospice care in a loving, caring, and dignified environment.
